FULL NAME FOR AUTHORS & COMPOSERS
New rules for songwriter credits (composers & lyricists)
Composers and authors (songwriters) are the people who contributed to the music and/or lyrics of a track.
To improve metadata quality, comply with DSP requirements, and support royalty collection from PROs/CMOs,
please enter songwriter credits correctly.

Songwriters are separate: composers & lyricists are no longer managed as artists.

Full name required: enter first name + surname for composers and lyricists.

New flow: click Create before selecting from the dropdown.

New entities: old entries won’t automatically appear in the new lists.

Creating vs editing

If you are creating
Add artists/other contributors in the first section.
Add composers & lyricists in the dedicated section using first name + surname.

If you are editing
Previous credits may appear in the summary.
To add/update songwriters, create new entries in the dedicated section with full names.

Why it matters:
better attribution, fewer errors/disputes, stronger DSP relationships, improved rights management & visibility.
|
Note: mentions such as “Rights Reserved” or “Public Domain” are not accepted.
